Team Unsinkable is AMRA’s RoboSub project. This year, we have completely overhauled our previous sub to complete RoboSub 2.0, or as we affectionately call it, Hammerhead. RoboNation’s RoboSub competition is an annual event to showcase the abilities of high school and university students to design, build, and test an AUV (autonomous underwater vehicle) submarine.
RoboSub
For the 2023-24 school year, our RoboSub project consisted of 15 members in all stages of their education. We had 4 electrical engineering majors, 4 computer science majors, 2 mechanical engineering majors, 3 aerospace engineering majors, and 2 software engineering majors.
Hammerhead
Hammerhead is AMRA’s competition vehicle developed for RoboSub’s annual international competition. Built for full autonomy in complex underwater environments, it integrates custom mechanical, electrical, and software systems to execute tasks such as object detection, navigation, and manipulation.
